Hidden Manhole in Bushey WD23
Here’s an interesting case study about a drain cleaning job that we did for a client in Bushey WD23 where the builder had hidden the manhole cover under the tiles in the porch.
The customer had experienced several blockages in quick succession and unfortunately we couldn’t find the manhole that received the waste from the toilet.
We decided to survey the system with our CCTV camera and pipe tracing equipment.
When we did, we discovered that the manhole was located under the tiles in the porch. This meant that we had to remove the poor customer’s beautiful tiles to get access to the chamber lid.
Once we got in to the manhole we continued with our CCTV survey and found vast quantities of scale in the pipework which had built up over many years.
We removed the scale from the pipework using our high-pressure water jet. We then reinspected the pipework with our CCTV camera to make sure all the scale had been removed and that there were no defects in the pipework.
Thankfully, the pipework was sound, and the system is now in good serviceable working order and the tiles have been replaced.
The client was very complimentary about our services and agreed to leave us a review on Google Maps and Trustatrader.Com.
